Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 2026
1. Overview
CaseTrack ("we," "our," or "us") operates the website casetrack.me. We are committed to protecting the privacy of our users, particularly because many users are immigration applicants whose information may be sensitive.
This policy describes what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.
2. Information We Collect
Anonymous Timeline Submissions
When you submit a timeline, we collect:
- Visa category (e.g., EB-2 NIW, Family I-130)
- Country of birth
- Service center (optional)
- Filing date (month and year only)
- Milestone status and approximate date
- Optional text note (you control what you write)
We do not collect: receipt numbers, A-numbers, names, addresses, passport numbers, or any USCIS case-specific identifiers.
Account Information
If you create an account, we receive from Clerk (our authentication provider) your email address and name (if provided). This is used only to associate your submissions with your account so you can track your personal timeline.
Usage Data
We may collect standard server log data (IP addresses, browser type, pages visited) for security and performance purposes. This data is not linked to your timeline submissions.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To compute and display aggregate processing time statistics
- To power the Explore page and community feed
- To show you your personal timeline (if you have an account)
- To improve the platform and fix bugs
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any commercial purpose beyond operating CaseTrack.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell or share your individual data with third parties. We may share anonymized, aggregated statistics (e.g., "average processing time for EB-2 NIW from India is 16 months") publicly on the platform — this is the core purpose of CaseTrack.
We use the following third-party services:
- Clerk — authentication (their privacy policy applies to account data)
- Railway/PostgreSQL — database hosting
5. Data Retention
Anonymous submissions are retained indefinitely to maintain the integrity of our aggregate data. If you created an account before submitting, you may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting privacy@casetrack.me.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights under GDPR, CCPA, or other privacy laws, including the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. Contact us at privacy@casetrack.me to exercise these rights.
7. Security
We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, secure database hosting, and access controls. However, no system is perfectly secure. We encourage you to never include sensitive case information in the optional notes field.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Significant changes will be announced on the platform. Your continued use of CaseTrack after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
